Commercial Finance Analyst

Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Analyst on behalf of a growing distribution brand based in the Black Country on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the business in its next phase of growth. The role will be biased towards commercial analysis and stakeholder engagement but will touch on all areas of the P&L providing great experience to an aspiring Finance Business Partner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Play a critical role in ensuring that the Sales and Margin reporting and Balance sheet is robust.
• Develop and communicate insight into business performance to drive positive change.
• Assist with the month end reporting, specifically commercial margin, pricing variances and stock revaluation.
• Take ownership of the business reporting tool and taking steps to improve current processes.
• Updating costs of products and communicating to internal stakeholders.
• Support the budget and quarterly forecasts with insightful analysis.
• Adhoc project work.

The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified Accountant having already embarked on their ACCA or CIMA studies, or with exemptions from a relevant university degree or AAT qualification. You will have previously worked in a similar analytical role and will possess strong Excel skills (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs as a minimum). This role would suit someone with a creative mind and confident communication skills who is passionate about driving business performance and improving financial insight and reporting.
