Assistant Accountant

Alexander Daniels are proud to be exclusively partnered with this manufacturing business based near Cannock who are looking to grow their well-established finance team by recruiting for an Assistant Accountant. The purpose of this role is to support the Finance Manager and the wider finance team with month end preparation and the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack.

Day-to-day duties include:

• Supporting the purchase and sales ledger functions
• Month end preparation including;
• Posting nominal journals
• Bank reconciliations
• Accruals and prepayments
• Supporting the Finance Manager with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
• Processing payroll

The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified (ACCA or CIMA) with previous experience in an SME and/or manufacturing finance department with a “roll your sleeves up” mentality and strong Excel skills (pivot tables & VLOOKUPs). You must have a positive can-do attitude and friendly demeanor and the ability to work efficiently to deadlines. Payroll knowledge would be beneficial but by no means essential.
